Nova Scotia man charged with second-degree murder in woman's death.

NEW GLASGOW, N.S. — Police in Nova Scotia have charged a 36-year-old man with second-degree murder in the death of a woman found in an apartment in New Glasgow.

Police say the body of 33-year-old Nicole Campbell of Pictou County was found in the home on Temperance Street around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The remains were discovered after police received a 911 call and went to the apartment.

The accused was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Thursday and was charged with second-degree murder after being interviewed by police.

He was remanded into custody and will appear in court on Monday.

An autopsy on Campbell’s remains is scheduled for today in Halifax. The cause of death has not been released.
