EDMONTON – Alberta is launching an online survey for opinions on its plan to overhaul the curriculum for students in kindergarten to Grade 12.

Premier Rachel Notley says it’s critical to upgrade what is taught in schools, because good education leads to good jobs.

The survey begins now and is to run for a month.

It’s part of an ongoing six-year curriculum overhaul.

The revamp involves arts, language arts, math, social studies, science and wellness.

A new plan for kindergarten to Grade 4 is to be done by 2018, the one for Grades 5 to 8 is set for 2019, and the high-school plan is to be developed in phases from 2020 to 2022.
