Montreal police seeking tips for 2014 disappearance now considered a homicide

Montreal police are seeking the public’s help in solving a 2014 disappearance that the force now considers a homicide.

Éric Saturnin Emenenguene, a 32-year-old from France, was reported missing in July 2014 from his Hochelaga-Maisonneuve apartment. His remains were found in the Lanaudière region roughly a year later.

Montreal police now consider the case a homicide after tests performed found that Emenenguene’s death was criminal in nature, police said on Wednesday.

When he was reported missing, Emenenguene was visiting Canada and was supposed to be returning to France the next month.

Police are seeking information from anyone who would have known Emenenguene or seen him around that time.

People with information are asked to call Info-Crime Montréal at 514-393-1133.
