Police set up command post at Université Laval in wake of breakins

QUEBEC — The Quebec City police department will set up a command post Wednesday starting at 10 a.m. in front of the Alphonse-Marie-Parent pavilion of Université Laval.

Police hope to gather information from the public about break-ins and crimes of a sexual nature that were reported to have happened at a student residence Saturday.

A series of at least nine break-ins happened during the night in the residences.

Quebec police have said that so far, four people reported being victims of sexually suggestive gestures.

It seems that the rooms targeted had unlocked or opened doors; they were not smashed.
