Victoria police investigating second stabbing in less than 24 hours

Victoria police are investigating a stabbing late Wednesday night, the second in 24 hours.

Police were called to the 800-block of Pandora Avenue around 10 p.m. after a man reported he had been stabbed. Officers found the victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by B.C. Ambulance paramedics.

Investigators believe this was not a random attack.

The stabbing comes less than 24 hours after 55-year-old Dan Vo, a well-known member of the street community, was stabbed in the 1600-block of Government Street. Vo was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen and hand and then went back to sleep in a doorway. It wasn’t until the morning that someone found him bleeding and investigators were called to the scene.

Vo was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in either attack.

Victoria police spokesman Bowen Osoko said there’s nothing to indicate the two stabbings were related.

Anyone with information about either attack is asked to call the Victoria police non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
