The photo at the top of this story was taken by Montreal Gazette reader Melani Litwack on the evening of Feb. 15, at the corner of de Maisonneuve Blvd. and Bulmer St. It shows a waist-high snowbank in the handicapped parking spots on Bulmer. Litwack said the bike lane around the corner on de Maisonneuve was completely clear of snow.
By 9 a.m. Thursday, the city of Montreal said it had cleared 57 per cent of streets in all boroughs. St-Léonard was winning the race with a 93-per-cent completion rate, while Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce was just 38 per cent clear, and Sud-Ouest was at 24 per cent.
