Police arrest nine in StHenri, Little Burgundy theft ring

Police say they have cracked down on a theft ring in St-Henri and Little Burgundy.

The thefts reached a peak last November, as groups of young people were attacking people either coming out of the métro stations or walking near the local bicycle paths.

Some of the victims were people in wheelchairs, or with limited mobility, police said in a statement.

Eight minors and one adult were arrested in relation to the ring. They will face charges of aggravated assault, robbery, assault with a weapon, possession of stolen goods, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
