RCMP suspected young couple facing terrorrelated charges were making pressurecooker bomb

    With their investigation just a few days old, the RCMP gathered enough evidence to search the homes of Sabrine Djermane and El Mahdi Jamali. 

    As those search warrants were carried out, on April 14, 2015, the RCMP hoped to find evidence to support their theory that the young couple were heading to Syria, possibly to fight with ISIS. But according to affidavits filed as part of the investigation the Mounties also found evidence Djermane and Jamali were allegedly preparing to make a pressure-cooker bomb similar to the ones used in the terrorist attack during the Boston Marathon in 2013 that killed three people and injured more than 250 others. The details contained in the affidavits are allegations and have not been proven in court.
