St. Catharines man wanted for first degree murder of stepson

Niagara Regional Police are searching for a 43-year-old man wanted for first degree murder in connection with the death of his stepson.

Justin Kuijer’s seven-year-old stepson Nathan Dumas was found critically injured Friday morning, and died in hospital on Saturday.

Police have not confirmed the cause of death.

Police were already looking for Kuijer in connection with the stabbing of an RBC employee who was sent to hospital on Friday.

The attack at the bank is not considered a robbery or a domestic dispute, however, police say the victim and Kuijer know each other professionally.

Niagara police are asking to the public to contact them if they have seen Kuijer or his grey 2009 Pontiac Montana van with the Ontario licence plate number, BYTE392.

They say he is considered armed and dangerous.

St. Catharines police constable Philip Gavin says a Canada-wide warrant for Kuijer will be issued Monday.
