    Here’s our roundup of the best and brightest stories this morning.

    A dark and stormy night: More than 120,000 homes and businesses in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick were without power late after thunderstorms and powerful winds swept through the provinces. Cottage country took the brunt of the storm in Ontario, while around here Hydro-Québec was reporting more than 27,800 outages by 7:30 a.m. Friday. About 600 of those were in the Montreal area — 15,000 were in the Laurentides. The stormy weather raged its way east, ripping out utility poles and knocking out power to thousands of people in New Brunswick.
