Smoke caused by a braking problem led the Société de transport de Montréal to close parts of the métro Green and Orange lines on Monday afternoon.
“A train braked too abruptly (at Charlevoix station) and this caused smoke under the train,” STM spokesperson Amélie Régis told the Montreal Gazette.
As of 2:15 p.m., the Green Line was still down between Angrignon and Berri-UQAM. Régis said it would resume soon.
Service on the Orange Line has already resumed. It had been closed between Snowdon and Berri-UQAM.
