Stay in line on StJeanBaptiste, South Shore police say

Police on Montreal’s South Shore want to remind citizens to follow the rules on St-Jean-Baptiste.

The Régie intermunicipale de police Richelieu-Saint-Laurent is asking people to keep their alcohol intake in check, especially in public places, and to maintain the public order.

In urban areas, fireworks are forbidden without a permit, and risk causing a fire or injury, the police noted.

The Régie also said that, in the event of an evacuation, it’s best for the public to calmly leave the site and obey police orders to avoid overcrowding the exits or risking criminal charges.

Patrollers will be paying close attention to the roads, keeping a lookout for possibly inebriated drivers.
