Liveblog Canadiens and Kings tied 11 after second period

A scoreless second period sets up what should be a dandy third at the Staples Centre.

Will the Canadiens, who played Tuesday night, have any legs for the final 20 — or 25 — minutes?

The first period was the best start Canadiens fans have seen in a while.

Paul Byron opened the scoring a shade over 10 minutes in, cashing in on an open side to Jonathan Quick’s right.

Alex Galchenyuk was in the box for slashing when old friend Mike Cammalleri batted one in from the slot to tie the game at 1-1.

Shots through 40 are 31-25 for the home team.
